Message from the President

The PBA membership is comprised of all of the police officers from within the Township of Mahwah. All members are full-time sworn police officers. The PBA membership is committed to the prevention of crime, protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances and the safeguarding of constitutional rights and guarantees. We continue to develop a community partnership and public trust to fulfill our mission.

The union is a non-profit labor organization, and is funded by donations from Mahwah residents and businesses, member’s dues and fundraising activities. The PBA also represents the police officers in contract negotiations, grievances and matters pertaining to work conditions and officer safety so that they may effectively serve the residents of the Township. In this capacity we work diligently to ensure that our members are fairly compensated and provided the training, equipment and support needed to serve the public effectively.

The Mahwah PBA donates money each year for benevolent causes, including scholarship funds, charities, financial assistance to families of fallen or critically ill officers, and for worthy causes that better the residents of Mahwah. The PBA also sponsors youth sport teams and activities in and around the Township.

This site and everything we do would not be possible without our dedicated and hard-working members. It would also not be possible without the support of the residents we proudly serve. Thank you again for visiting our site.

Sincerely,
Eric larsen
President, Mahwah P.B.A. Local 143
